Central to the mission of Adult Redeploy Illinois is the inclusion of evidence-based practices in local plans to divert non-violent offenders from prison into community-based services and supervision, in order to reduce crime and recidivism rates and improve outcomes. The Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority has recently launched a portal on its web site with a vast store of information and links to resources about evidence-based practices. This portal is a valuable tool for jurisdictions interested in implementing Adult Redeploy Illinois.
This resource offers justice agencies and health and human services practitioners links to manuals, searchable databases, and webinars about evidence-based practices across the justice system. This work-in-progress is organized in accordance with the range of themes identified within the Authority's strategic planning process. It is intended to provide information for all sectors of the justice system from prevention and early intervention through corrections. This resource will be continuously updated to reflect advancements in the literature. It will also include a comprehensive resource related to juvenile justice.
