AUTHORITY ANNOUNCES FUNDING FOR VICTIM OF CRIME ACT 2015 LEAD ENTITY SERVICES FOR VICTIMS OF SEXUAL ASSAULT PROGRAM

ICJIA is the state agency charged with the administration of the Illinois’ Victims of Crime Act Victim Assistance Formula Grant
Program. As part of the recommendations established by the Victim Services Ad Hoc Committee, the strengthening and expansion of core services for victims of crime was a priority. To fulfill this priority, ICJIA has made available $16.3 million in VOCA grant funding for core services and related support costs for victims of sexual assault. These funds will be made available to the Illinois Coalition Against Sexual Assault.

ICJIA is the state agency charged with the administration of the Illinois’ Victims of Crime Act Victim Assistance Formula Grant
Program. As part of the recommendations established by the Victim Services Ad Hoc Committee the strengthening and expansion of core services for victims of crime was a priority. To fulfill this priority, ICJIA has made available $7.1 million in VOCA grant funding for core services and related support costs for minor victims of abuse services. These funds will be made available to the Children’s Advocacy Centers of Illinois (CACI).

Candice Kane led the Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority as Executive Director for seven years of a 20-year career with the agency. She retired in 2014 from University of Illinois at Chicago, Cure Violence, where she was Chief Operating Officer. She was a tireless criminal justice advocate, greatly respected in Illinois and nationally for her contributions in the areas of victim services and gang and gun violence reduction. She is kept in the hearts of many for her friendship, generosity, kindness, and for her dedication to nurturing goodness.

National experts will present a lecture focused on “Resolving the Data Wars on Human Trafficking” and lead a discussion on ways to shed light on the hidden and clandestine crime of human trafficking. Employment Opportunity: Research Analyst

The Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority (“the Authority”), based in downtown Chicago, is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Research Analyst. Under the direction of the manager of the Center for Justice Research and Evaluation, performs a variety of senior level technical functions relating to the design, development, implementation, and monitoring of applied research and process and impact evaluations of criminal justice-related programs and practices. The person in the position will prepare, present and disseminate research findings; perform reviews of relevant criminal justice literature; develop and use appropriate and sound methodology to design and manage a research project, perform simple to moderately complex statistical analyses of criminal justice and non-criminal justice data sets utilizing SPSS and other software in conjunction with process and impact evaluation work and to support the agency’s data archive; assist in the development of Notification of Funding Opportunities (NOFO), Request for Applications (RFA), or Request for Proposals (RFP) of agency-funded programs. Provide reviews of relevant literature to guide NOFO, RFA, and RFT development; serve as a liaison to criminal justice agencies, organizations, and associations; perform other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
