Posted: May 7, 2018 | Keywords: Awards Nominations

The Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority (ICJIA) is now accepting nominations for the 2018 Candice M. Kane Lifetime Service Award. Dr. Kane led ICJIA as Executive Director for seven years of a 20-year career with the agency. She retired in 2014 from the University of Illinois at Chicago, Cure Violence, where she was Chief Operating Officer. After she passed away in 2017, ICJIA created the Candice M. Kane Lifetime Service Award to honor her legacy.

Nominations should include a brief description of the candidate’s career, the positions he or she has held, and work he or she has accomplished. Ideal candidates should have a career in research, policy, or programming that embodies the commitment Dr. Kane’s life exemplified: a tireless devotion to improving the criminal justice system and the lives of people who are affected by it.

Please email nominations to caitlin.delong@illinois.gov. Nominations are due by 5 p.m. on Thursday, May 24. The award winner will be announced at the next ICJIA Quarterly Board Meeting.
